About The Area

Clitheroe, a delightful market town, steeped in character and tradition with an historic 800 year-old Norman castle and keep, is one of the “pearls” of the picturesque Ribble Valley. With the majestic Pendle Hill as its backdrop, its location makes it an ideal base for visiting the ruggedly-beautiful Yorkshire Dales, the breath-taking Lake District, the historic Bronte Country….or traveling to the coastal resorts of West Lancashire.

In addition, the relatively unknown Forest of Bowland  Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)  is within 10 minutes drive  of “Brooklyn” and is a wonderful area to explore for motorists, walkers and cyclists . It is also within easy reach of all the East Lancashire business centres and close to the Motorway network.

Clitheroe and the surrounding villages have a fantastic choice of places to eat to suit all tastes, a small selection includes:-
